Plant Communication and Defence: From Molecular Signalling to Ecological Interactions

Chief Editor: Dr. Shashi Bhushan: Assistant Professor, A.S. Colllege, Bikramganj VKSU Ara
Co-Editor: Dr. Prerna Priya: Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Purnea Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Purnea University
Tentative Publication: November 18, 2026
Plant Communication and Defence: From Molecular Signalling to Ecological Interactions explores the sophisticated signalling networks through which plants perceive, process and communicate information in response to biotic and abiotic challenges. The volume brings together contemporary perspectives on calcium signalling, reactive oxygen species, phytohormones, electrical signals, volatile organic compounds, small RNAs, epigenetic regulation, plant–plant communication, root signalling, plant–microbe interactions, plant microbiomes and systemic defence. By integrating molecular, physiological and ecological perspectives, the book highlights how plants coordinate local and long-distance responses and adapt to changing environments. The volume will be valuable to researchers, teachers, postgraduate students and advanced undergraduate students in plant biology, Botany, plant physiology, plant pathology, molecular biology, microbiology, ecology and related disciplines.
